21.5 Mixed chart pie chart and table
The pie chart compares the prominent causes, namely over-grazing, deforestation, over-cultivation and other, of decreasing fertility of agricultural land worldwide. The table displays the effect of the aforementions reasons on North America, Europe and Oceania in 1990.
Overall, over-grazing was the main culprit worldwide, while other was lowest responsible. Deforestation and over-cultivation were were at second and third position respectively. Maximum percentage of land was degraded in Europe, whereas the minimum was observed by North America. There is no similarity between the highest or the lowest cause among any region.
Around 35% of land was affected by over-grazing, which is the maximum ratio for any given cause. This figure is more than 5% and 7% than deforestation and over-cultivation respectively. The lowest proportion is for other reason at 7%.
Looking towards the regions, Europe's around one fourth of land was degraded which was about 10% more than Oceania. Only 5% of land lost its fertility in North America, out of which 3.3 % was due to over-cultivation. Oceania didn't lose any land due to over-cultivation whereas its 11.3 land went rogue due to over-grazing which was the maximum single percentage by any given reason for one region in 1990.
