The diagram displays the process of making two kinds of Pu-erh tea namely, Raw Tea and Ripe Tea.

Overall, both kind of teas involve five steps each in the production process out of which three steps are common.

Both processes begin with heating up tea leaves in a frying Pan followed by using the rolling method to pulversided the leaves to dry them under the sun, which is the second step. This gives access to last common stage for both types named as Loose Raw Tea.

The first distinct step is making Pu-erh tea is to perform fermentation on the aforementioned Loose Raw tea to yeild Loose Ripe tea which is further compressed to get the Pu-erh Ripe tea.

The very first different step is to apply compression on the Loose Raw Tea to convert them into Pu-erh Raw Tea which is being stored for the aging to obtain the final product in the forthcoming step in the form of Vintage Pu-erh Raw Tea.
