The best way to reduce poverty in developing countries is by giving up to six years of free education, so that they can at least read, write and use numbers.

Rampantly increasing poverty is a grave issue for the local authoroties in the underdeveloped nations. A segment of society believes that the best way to counter this is to make sure that residents are at least literate by providing free of cost education for up to six years. I fully disagree with this statement because not all jobs required literacy skills, and I believe the best solution for this would be to make strict laws by the governments.
Although education opens the gate of opportunities for multiple sectors, there are still many fields that do not require the worker to be able to read and write. In order to reduce the poverty, regimes can promote the aforementioned jobs to the lesser affuluents. One example of such jobs is general labor in the construction industries because generally these workers are told by their supervisors verbally about their jobs on daily basis. If they have to take down a floor one day then the supervisor will simply tell their workers that they need to demolish this floor and there is no requirement of any reading or writing abilities in the forementioned tasks. Hence, providing the free education is not the best solution because there are alternatives available that should be taken into consideration.
The best solution to counter the poverty is enacting strict laws regarding the basic education. It has been proven scientifically that normally the chances of individuals following some rule can be improved if there is an punishment related to it. So, governments can make strict laws to make sure that every young one receives at least basic education. For example, one of the developing countries from Africa passed a legislation recently, according to which if a child is found absent from school for continously 10 days without any prior notice to the school authorities then the parents of such learner will have to pay a hafty fine.
In conclusion, I believe free education is not the best way to fight poverty in less developed nations because there are many jobs out there that do not require the worker to be literate, and making strong laws is a better alternative. We should all work together to tackle the poverty by all means and not relying on any single medium.
